for experienced singers and for newcomers.
The workshops are open to singers of all ages and abilities (depending on the focus of the workshop).
In each workshop we explore pieces in a range of musical styles; there will be some learning by ear and some music-reading -
but prior reading skills are not essential. A variety of issues of vocal technique are discussed and explored.
Above all they are fun, confidence-building and inspirational!

'Singing in the Shed'
Paula and Chris have been running these stand-alone sessions at all possible points during the lockdown, and they have been well-attended and well-received. Aimed at anyone who wants to sing for real instead of online, they tend to be 1.5 hours long on certain Saturday mornings.
No music-reading skills are necessary, as parts are learnt by ear.
Participation costs £10, and all places MUST be booked in advance to ensure that Covid restrictions (this includes limiting the number of attendees) can be followed.

RECENT(ish) WORKSHOPS...
AUGUST 1, 2020 A powerful 3-hr workshop with members of Vocal High, in the Workshop Spaces at Corn Mill, H-o-G. Highly ventilated rooms with a small ensemble (9 singers); using the fabulous reverberation to explore drones, chants and improvisations. Some fantastic music made, and lots of confidence boosted!

MARCH 7, 2020 Amazing day with Circlesinging vocalist Guillermo Rozenthuler. We hosted the day as 2 workshops - a 'vocieleaders' session in the morning, for experienced singers and those wishing to develop techniques for leading circlesinging sessions; and an afternoon session of sponatenous composition for our ensemble Vocal High. The power of music to unite and transform was self-evident throughout!
